Corelli and Mozart's Symphony No. 39 1

  • St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church 5301 Ponderosa Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110 Tucson, AZ (map)

Tony will be playing Principal trumpet for this performance.

One of the crown jewels of Baroque instrumental music! Andrew Grams makes his TSO debut as a violinist when he conducts and plays violinist and composer Arcangelo Corelli’s best-known work. The program flows from the “nuevo tango” of Osvaldo Golijov’s tribute to Astor Piazzolla, a work rich in Piazzolla styled melodies and rhythms, to Mozart’s eloquent and powerful 39th, still one of his most performed symphonies although details of its composition have mystified scholars for centuries.

Complimentary “Concert Comments” with the conductor and guest artist take place one hour before the performance and give you insight into what you’re about to hear.
